Job Description/Responsibilities The Customer Energy Specialist performs a variety of standard/routine tasks of a technical/scientific nature under general supervision. These tasks may include interpreting and utilizing all forms of construction drawings and prints; preparing detailed engineering designs using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) or other appropriate computer systems/software programs to create new gas/electric facilities; maintaining and utilizing appropriate computer programs (SAP) to effectively plan, organize and prioritize the scheduling of work assignments in response to new work orders. In addition, the Customer Energy Specialist have the ability to respond and resolve a variety of standard/routine new business energy requests which may include creating, scheduling and tracking new work orders; preparing specialized billing calculations and contracts; explaining technical energy options/procedures, and promoting new marketing products and services. The Customer Energy Specialist may need to be competent in two energies (electric and gas), and may be responsible for the overall coordination of work between Consumers Energy and other utilities. At this level, all Customer Energy Specialist''s (in all electric or combination areas) must have the ability to utilize the appropriate emergency response procedures and computer systems (OMS) in assisting with any electric storm restoration operation. In short, a Customer Energy Specialist should exhibit the ability to respond/resolve a variety of standard/routine customer-initiated new business inquiries, evaluate and communicate the requirements to the customer, use applicable methods, procedures and techniques to create the work order, provide billing and contracts as required, and perform a variety of standard/routine technical tasks and processes to coordinate the completion of the request. These job tasks will increase with difficulty and require more expertise at the higher level CES positions. Requirements/Qualifications This position will be filled at the highest level (Distribution Assistant-Customer Energy Specialist III). Engineering Technology Degree preferred. Prior working experience in design and customer relations preferred. Minimum education requirements accepted for DA I - CES III: CES Educational Certificate (48 credit hours which requires a mix of technical, marketing, business and communications course work from an accredited institution) or two years of college course work with a minimum of 36 credit hours in a technical or scientific area (see Job Family description for specifics). Minimum Requirements accepted for Distribution Assistant I: Must be working on the credits necessary for a CES certificate (48 credit hours which requires a mix of technical, marketing, business and communications course work from an accredited institution) or two years of college course work with a minimum of 36 credit hours in a technical or scientific area. Maximum allowable time in this position is two years. Prior working experience in design and customer relations preferred. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
