Marine Technician
Now hiring a Marine Technician in Alma, MI! Trillium Staffing, a leader in the staffing industry is currently seeking a Marine Technician in Alma, MI. The Marine Technician will troubleshoot on boat's motor and/or dash panel when a problem arises. Candidates will also install inboard and outboard motors as required. Installation of these motors requires the assembly and installation of several electrical components.
Key
Responsibilities:
o Adheres to all safety policies and procedures
o Follows all pre-established installation and quality methods, procedures and guidelines to ensure consistency of work
o Reads order-specific job travelers and/or engineered drawings to ensure each order is produced to specifications
o Uses various hand tools and power tools to assemble motor components, among other duties
o Completes all job duties within given time constraints
o Performs other duties as assigned
o Cross-trains between several different jobs
o Contributes to model change each year by prototyping various parts and configurations
o Cleans and maintains work area
o Pursues continuous improvement to improve efficiency of job duties and work flow
o Needs good visual judgment to notice errors and/or defects
o Ability to accurately read a tape measure
o Ability to work in a fast paced, multifunctional team oriented work environment
o Ability to work variable hours with short notice (up to 50
hrs. per week)
Physical Requirements and Environment
o Involves standing, bending, and twisting for long periods as required
o Requires repetitive movement
o Includes noise levels that are distracting and/or uncomfortable
o Requires wearing personal protective equipment
o Involves exposure to all weather conditions
o Requires ability to hear and respond to radio communications
o Includes working in dimly lit and/or tight spaces o High school diploma or GED
o Broad knowledge of electrical systems and motors, certifications preferred but not required

o Able to lift a maximum of 40 lbs. without assistance, and pushing/pulling 150 - 300 lbs. items with the use of hand trucks or pallet jacks some items are large and/or awkward
